101 FAI World Records / 377 British National Records - see Stop Press

Steve has set a massive total of 101 solo international FAI World Speed  Records - 77 of these in a single year - a record in itself. With 101 World Records officially ratified Steve is:

• No. 1 in the World for the most aviation world records set by a British pilot in aviation history, in any type of flying machine - 101 records
• No. 1 in the World for the number of world records set by a pilot of any nationality flying a homebuilt aircraft (records complying with the FAI 2008 Sporting Code rules which provided for a minimum record speed of 100 km/h or the stall speed of the aircraft if higher) - 101 records
• No. 1 in the World for world records set to / from The Bahamas - 64 records
• No. 1 in the UK for the most aeroplane world records ever set in a single year - 77 records
• No. 1 in the World for the most world records ever set in a US registered homebuilt aircraft - 101 records
• The first British pilot to fly a homebuilt aircraft around the ‘four corners’ of the USA - 3 times!
• No other British pilot in aviation history has set as many records in any type of flying machine - 101 FAI World Records and 377 British National Records

Steve has also smashed a 56 year old record for the most FAI aeroplane world records set by a British pilot in a single year. The previous record of 27 records was set by T W Hayhow in 1952, flying an Auster Aiglet. Even the legendary Sheila Scott set only 23 world records in a single year  back in 1967, so Steve’s 77 world records set in a single year beats this by a huge margin!
